Abstract

This paper presents the relationship of Heidegger’s philosophy with the analogy of being as I developed in my Ph. D. thesis. Analogy of being was the central topic of philosophical and theological paradigm during the Middle Ages. The philosophical and theological paradigms during this period were known as ‘Scholasticism’. In this sense, I will analyze the influence of the Middle Ages in Heidegger’s philosophy, especially how the paradigm ‘Scholasticism’ influenced Heidegger’s philosophy. However, I do not intend to explain it comprehensively but rather I will restrict my reflections to the relationship of Heidegger’s thinking with the analogy of being, considering that analogy plays a central role in Scholasticism. The principal goal of this paper is to demonstrate how Heidegger considers the analogy of being and the interpretation of being as analogy
