Abstract
The year of 2022 ended with a glimmer of hope for a humanitarian pause in Papua. On 11 November, the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP), the Majelis Rakyat Papua (MRP, the Papuan People’s Assembly), the Komisi Nasional Hak Asasi Manusia (Komnas HAM, the Indonesian National Commission on Human Rights), and the West Papua Council of Churches signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Geneva , Switzerland, facilitated by the Humanitarian Dialogue centre, calling for a humanitarian pause from 10 December 2022 to 10 February 2023.
